LOG QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
ASPEN
diameter: 18 … 110 cm
Length: 2.4 and 3.0 m + minimum excess of 6 cm
Knots: number and size unlimited
Curvature: Allowed simple curvature 3%, allowed compound curvature 1%
Dry rot: allowed
Cracks: End surface cracks must not reach the bark, and cracks narrower than 2 mm are not considered; through-side cracks and ring cracks are prohibited
Bark: A hard-bottomed knot is allowed on one side of the log, up to 2 crown diameters in length, which may extend up to 10% of the crown diameter into the log cylinder
Tears: Allowed tears or splinter fractures that may extend up to 10% of the crown diameter into the log cylinder
Prohibited: double heart, mechanical damage, foreign bodies.
Red heart: extent is not limited
GRAY ALDER
diameter: 18.… 110 cm
